Annie Laura Tharp-Riley was born on May 5, 1953 to the late Frank J. Tharp and Moddie B. Tharp in Memphis, Tennessee. She departed this earthly life on July 26, 2022. Miss Annie, as she was so lovingly referred to by her family and close friends, was one of eight children, and was preceded in death by Robert Tharp and Eva Tharp-Gill. Miss Annie received Christ at an early age and loved the LORD. After graduating from Central High School in Memphis, she moved to California where she furthered her education earning her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Long Beach. Miss Annie loved everything about California, from the warm and sunny days to the cool and soothing nights, to being near the ocean. She met and married Timothy Riley and to this union, two children were born, Rachel and Regis Riley. Miss Annie and her family left California and settled in the surrounding areas of Atlanta, GA where she was a dedicated employee at FedEx for twenty years. She loved spending time with family and friends and watching game shows. Miss Annie leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Timothy Riley; two children, Rachel and Regis, her mother, Moddie Tharp; two brothers, Harvey (Cynthia) Tharp and John Tharp; three sisters, Anita Moore, Stella (Larry) Walker and Cynthia Baker, and a host of nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends. A service celebrating her life will take place Friday, August 5, 2022, 11 AM, at World Changers Church International - 2500 Burdett Road, Atlanta, GA 30349. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will take place Thursday, August 4, 2022, 1 - 7 PM, at Cook Brothers Funeral Directors - 268 NW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA 30213.
