Barbara Jean Soza (Irby), 74, of Riverdale, Ga, passed on Thursday, November 25, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. A memorial service celebrating her life will take place Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Cook Brothers Chapel, Dr. LaRita Primrose, Officiant. To view the service via livestream: https://vimeo.com/653291038 OBITUARY Ms. Barbara Jean Irby Soza was born in Alberta, Alabama to the late Beatrice and Rufus Irby on March 29, 1947. She was the mother of one child. Barbara worked in the airline industry which enabled her to travel the world. She loved exposing children in her family to different places and experiences. As a talented seamstress whose creations were sewn with perfection and care, she helped make the events and/or homes of her patrons even more special.  Barbara rarely turned down a card game - from spades and bid whist back in the day to bridge, tripoly, and pinochle in more recent years. She shared this joy with many groups of people including the hundreds of young minds she reached by teaching Bridge during her retirement. Another passion was the people she cared about. Barbara was protective of and loyal to her loved ones and always wanted the best for them.  Barbara was preceded in death by brothers Leon Pettway, Ruben Irby, and Clarence Irby; and sisters Bertha Pettway, Christine Crear, and Margaret Davis. Her love for life and people will live on in survivors: daughter Tiffany (Kirkland); sisters Clara Coleman, Essie Johnson, Bernice Murphy, and Jacqueline Irby; brother George Irby; numerous nieces; great-nieces; nephews; great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
