Sherry Jean Jarrett was born March 4, 1951 to the late Hural and Everlyn Henderson. At an early age she accepted Christ and served in various capacities at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she joined. God truly anointed Sherry’s hands and in doing so enabled her to become self-employed as a seamstress for many years. In her downtime she enjoyed sewing, fishing and going to the fish market and certainly trips to the casino. Sherry will be most cherished and remembered for her loving presence during family time, which can never be replaced or forgotten. On August 1, 2022, Sherry Jarrett made her transition from this life into eternal rest, bidding a final farewell to all things temporal. We rejoice in knowing, “to be absent from the body, is to be present with The Lord,” and that we know is permanent! Sherry gave birth to one son, Willie Carlton Henderson, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her sister Sylvia Henderson and parents, Everlyn and Hural Henderson. Sherry leaves behind to cherish her memories, the love of her life Willie Carlton Henderson (Diddy); three sisters, Everlene Brown, Gloria Hill, Tommy Winters; one brother, Hural Henderson Jr.; two grandchildren Shay Henderson and Jerry Henderson; one great grand, Treyson Henderson; two aunts, Mary Bell Harris and Mary Salaam; best friends Diana Hines and Betty Booker (cousin) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A service celebrating her life will take place 12:00 Noon, Monday, August 1 at the Saint Smyrna Baptist Church, interment will immediately follow in the Eastview Cemetery. The viewing will take place on Sunday evening from 3 PM - 6 PM at the Church.
